My name is Aleece, and I was born and raised in Madison! My husband and I have been together for 10 years (high school sweethearts!) and married for four. We have two kids: Raegan is a sassy, independent, and fearless 20-month-old and Cashton is a chill two-month-old that smiles so big when his sister talks to him. :) I have a degree in Elementary Education and have been a substitute teacher for 2.5 years for the Madison Metropolitan School District.
When I was pregnant with Raegan, my friend told me how much she loved babywearing. It was totally new to me, and because of that, we didn't wear Raegan until she was 5+ months old. I started wearing her to go on walks, and then I realized how amazing it was. I loved that she could be close to me. I felt like she was too little and couldn't see anything if she was laying in the stroller, but when she was in the carrier she could see everything, and she was at my level so I could point things out to her which made the walks fun for both of us.
I want new caregivers to know that babywearing is a great way to bond with your baby! It allows you to keep them close, but still allows you to get things accomplished. With my first baby, babywearing allowed me to keep on top of the daily things: house work, run errands, and cook dinner without having to put her down. With my second baby, babywearing helps keep me sane! It allows me to give love and cuddles to my baby while still being able to interact (and run after!) my toddler. It also allows me to nurse on the go! Who has time to sit down for a whole nursing session? Our babywearing relationship is continuing to grow, and we love it!
